- St Just Volunteer Fire Brigade, founded in 1932. On the formation of the National Fire Service in 1941 the fire engine was garaged in Boswedden Road from 1945 to 1951. From 1951 as part of the County Fire Brigade a new site was used at the old Carpet Factory, Nancherrow Hill, St Just until the opening of a new station at Lafrowda Close in 1985 (CRO CCFBG/9).
